Portrait Photography Tips
Following last month's fascinating interview with Bella West FBIPP. FRPS she's kindly agreed to show us some portrait photography tips of her own unique multi award winning style.
Portrait photography is more than simply photographing someones likeness. Great portraits capture a mood and feeling and provoke an emotion in the viewer.
Bella is one of my favourite portrait photographers. She is a mistress with light and uses available light for all her portraiture. Her style is very graphic and her child portraits are often moody haunting images.
In this film I'm Bella's assistant and help out with the reflector as she takes us through posing and composition, using the surroundings, Exposure, ISOs and shutter speeds and how to bring out personality in her top photography tips.
I got Lightroom as part of my Photoshop package and had no idea where to start. Without 7STWM I would have left it languishing on my computer unused. Now I can organise my photos and know exactly where everything is. It has also helped me keep just the keepers instead of having hundreds of pics I know I'll never look at let alone use. As always like you have managed to simplify a very complicated subject.
