Camera Settings Explained - Manual Mode Superpowers - Photo Biker 24
Have you ever heard of the exposure triangle? It’s a term, or analogy, for the three core camera settings that impact the exposure of an image.
Those settings are aperture, shutter speed, and ISO.
We need to be familiar with how these affect a photograph and how they work together to achieve a particular shot.
But why do many photographers aspire to shoot in manual mode when there are all those auto modes and creative camera settings you can access at a flick of a switch?
It’s because manual mode has some superpowers going on in the background. But, to access these superpowers, you must first understand what your camera does in different manual settings and how they work together to create various creative photo opportunities.
Getting familiar with the superpowers and playing with the exposure triangle is ideal if you want to advance your photography skills.
But accessing and understanding those superpowers isn’t always necessary if you want to achieve a well-exposed shot that’s sharp and in focus.
Either way, you need to know how aperture, shutter speed, and ISO work individually and together if you want to succeed in manual mode.
So, check out my video as I get stuck into camera settings, adjusting them little by little to get a great picture. But, if you aren’t familiar with the exposure triangle or lack confidence in manual mode, you won’t be for long!
