Using Leading Lines Pt. 2
Leading lines are all around us most of the time - you just need to know where to look for them and how to get the best from them.
This street scene was taken on a horrible dull day so there's no shadows and textures. And that's a real life situation. You might want to take some photos when you're visiting somewhere and can't come back when the light's better.
By getting down low I used the no parking lines, kerb and pavement as a leading line to make the photo more dynamic
When photographing a person you can use them as a leading line too. As we were walking through the park I saw an arch which was easy to use as a leading line up to my face. You can watch us do it for real with the video camera.
Remember to consider depth of field with leading lines. Ask yourself if the line needs to be sharp or would you prefer it to be soft then come sharp as the viewer arrives at the place in the image you want the most impact.
If this is a area you struggle with I cover leading lines and many other composition elements in my Masterclass in Photography 4 week course.
