Intro to Camera Controls
Most great images are NOT down to a function of your camera's controls. They're down to your own creativity and imagination. But to express thet creativity you will need to be able to control your camera and tell it what you want it to do.
The good news is that despite the bewildering array of camera controls you only reallly need to thouroughly understand five of them - my Masterclass in Photography will explain them in nutshell...
Shutter speed, Apertures, ISO, White Balance and Focal Length. These five are the fundamentals which need to be fully understood and the rest are accessories in my opinion. Especially the hundreds of options available in the camera's menu.
Ok, so what do all the buttons and knobs on your camera actually do? There's certainly a lot of them and camera manufacturers are adding more all the time - which seems crazy to me.
In this video, we take a quick tour through the camera controls that you really need to know about.
Starting with the command dial we show you how to make the most of your camera's capabilities without staying in auto mode!
