Auto Focus Modes Pt. 2
In Auto focus modes part 1 we looked at how to tell your camera which area of the viewfinder you want it to focus on. Now we're going to look at how deep into the photo you want it to focus.
When you're photographing something which isn't moving it's easy. Select the area and half press the shutter button. But what do you do when the subject is moving towards you? You use continuous focus mode also called AI servo on a Canon camera and AF-C on a Nikon.
In continuous focusing modes the camera will track whatever it's auto focus has locked onto as it moves towards or away from the camera. You can select the area or point in the frame where you want the focus to concentrate as we did in part 1 and combine it with AI Servo / AF-C.
Next set continuous shooting or burst mode and all you have to do is keep the point of focus where you want it on the subject as they come towards you and the camera's auto focus will track them keeping them sharp as the camera shoot multiple images.
