How are courses delivered?

 Mar 2018

Do I have to Log In online to access the course?

Yes.

We'll send you a link to your own account in our online training centre along with a username and password which you can change at any time. Courses can be completed online or downloaded to your hard drive. Courses do not expire and will remain in your account.

How is the course delivered?

After checkout we'll send you two (2) emails to the address you used when you purchased the course. One is a receipt and the other is your log in to our training centre where you'll find week 1 waiting for you in your account. If you bought with Paypal, it'll be your Paypal email address we send the course to.

Each week we'll add the next set of tutorials to your account and send you an email to let you know they're ready for you. If you complete a week early and want the next lesson added to your account, there's a link in your emails where you can get it right away.

What type of file is the download?

Files are zipped (.ZIP) to prevent them opening in your web browser, but not being saved to your hard drive. All up to date operating systems can un-pack .ZIP files.

How big are the files?

File sizes vary according to the number of and length of the videos they contain. Typically they are between 200 and 900 megabytes.

How long will they take to download?

It depends on the speed of your Internet connection. The biggest 900 Mb file would take…

  • Slow connection (1.5 Mbps): 1hr 25 mins
  • Average connection (10Mbps): 13 mins
  • Fast connection (25 Mbps): 5 mins
  • Super-fast connection (100 Mbps): 1 min 19 secs

Can I do a course on a mobile device?

Yes, you can log into your account from any device connected to the internet. You can only download to a laptop or desktop computer, then copy tutorials across to a mobile device from there.

Can I download all of the course at once?

The course is designed to run over a number of weeks so you have time to complete the exercises, practise and become proficient and are ready for the next tutorials. Photography is complex and has many things which appear to contradict if you don't learn to walk before you try to run. You really will get yourself in a mess if you don't learn things in the correct sequence.

I also want you avoid the temptation to skip ahead and miss bits out. When you do this, you are not doing our course – you are doing your own edited version of it and we do not offer the same guarantee for that.

If you complete a weeks training early you can request the next tutorials to be sent ahead of schedule via a link in any the delivery notification email.

Can I keep the course - or will it expire?

No. The course will always be in your account. As you continue my training curriculum, additional courses you enrol on are added to the same account.
