Southampton University have been using video's and photography to teach students and tell patient's stories for over a decade. In order to capture the attention of a 21st century student these have to be compelling and realistic.
Mike and Jayne have massively improved our photography, filming and production techniques to a whole new level where the viewers get involved in the story telling.
Students no longer have to cope with the clunky stilted amateur film clips that we used in the past. Now they get to experience and 'feel' whats happening rather than just observe it.
Being moved and informed helps them reflect on their practice, and we hope change attitudes and reduce the stigma that often follows mental illness.
