		Jayne and I (I'm Mike) have been in the image business since 1992, Jayne as one of the UK's leading television producer directors and me as a professional photographer and cameraman. We've worked on projects at home and abroad and won several awards along the way. We feel most photography courses are surprisingly dry and frankly uninspiring. So we chose to produce our own ...
		written in everyday language concentrating only on what you need to know keeping it friendly - like we're having a one to one chat aiming to inspire you to get out and 'shoot'!

It's your day to spend as you like
Everyone is at different levels of knowledge (even the 'pros' are constantly learning new tips and techniques from each other and going on courses) so your photography training day will go at the pace you want it to and build confidence in the areas where you need it. If you're a beginner you won't feel you're being left behind, or if you're more experienced, feel held back by the rest of the class. It's your day to spend as you wish and I'll be right there with you to help out, answer your questions and coach you. When we make the arrangements I'll find out what you want to look at and the level you're at and we'll plan the day accordingly. Opposite are a couple of suggestions.		A beginner's day ... Camera controls - what you need and what you don't Lenses - what they do and how you can be creative and control your environment just by knowing which lens to use for which occasion Colours - how to make sure they're the colour you want them to be Some practical out and about shooting pics to experience what we've talked about so far Back and look at the pics taken, questions and answers Prepare some of the images for printing and send them to a lab (they'll be delivered directly to your home address when printed)

		A more experienced day ... Go straight out shooting early for the best light On location coaching to help you get the most out of every shot Finding good light and using it How to control your environment by changing lenses Colour management Colour profiling and preparing images for professional printing Send your images to a 'pro' lab and have them delivered directly to your home address.

A word from Mike

"The great thing with a One To One Photography training day is it's yours to do with as you wish. I'll be your photography coach and resource for the day, but we've also go the most fantastic natural surroundings down here. So if you fancy going out shooting in the New Forest or along the Solent, I'll be there to help you get the most out of it.

If you'd just like to spend the day getting your head round manual modes and focal lengths - no worries. Despite having been a full time pro photographer since 1991, I still love talking photography and sharing my knowledge.

I'm not really an equipment junkie, but you know the excitement you get as you press the shutter and just know the shot's going to be great, then the high when you see it big on screen or in print? Well , I still get it too. If I can share my knowledge and inspire others to go out and shoot the images they dream of... what a cool way to make a living!"

Where do we do it...
Location
One to One photography training takes place in Lymington in Hampshire. We have the New Forest and its ponies all around us, the Solent with its boats and marinas nearby and many other beautiful attractions a short drive away. If you'd like to make a weekend of it, why not bring your spouse or partner? Lymington has a lively Saturday market all year round, Shops to browse, great pubs and restaurants, scenic walks and the Isle of Wight is a half hour ferry ride away. They won't be bored whilst you're getting all photographic! We can send you a list of great places to stay from B&Bs to some lovely hotels.		visit: www.lymington.org

It was the perfect ‘leg-up’ to really understand the features on my camera and get to grips with the manual and semi manual settings. It was a steep learning curve but the day was an excellent ‘hands-on’ experience that I would thoroughly recommend.
