I've worked for around the last 15 years as a TV producer director, making programmes as diverse as DIY, documentaries and daily live broadcast Television.
One of my programmes won the prestigious Royal Television Society award for innovation for BBC City Hospital (which I produced for eleven series!).
When Mike and I got together seven years ago (professionally and personally!) I got really inspired by Mike and his passion for photography (and he makes me laugh!). So instead of telling other people where to point them, I learnt the art of both moving and stills cameras for myself.
We've been running a highly successful business sharing our skills ever since. Between us we really do know image making!
My other main passions are property restoration (which drives Mike mad cos he hates it!) indie music, pondering on why we're all here, riding motorbikes (back of, not on) and travel.
MikeI bought my first camera in 1968 when I was six years old (bloody hell I'm getting old!) and turned full time professional in 1993. Before that I was a self employed truck driver and plant machinery operator.
It was a chance meeting and life changing conversation I had whilst backpacking in Africa during 1992 which led me to return home and turn my hobby into my livelihood.
I spent a year on income support, went to night school and spent every waking minute making contacts with professional photographers and teaching myself about photography.
I wrote my first invoice in December 1993 for a commercial shoot at Southampton airport.
One of my most personally rewarding jobs was a documentary shoot about orphans and homeless children in Romania. It was sponsored by Fuji and exhibited by the Master Photographers Association, The Romanian Ambassador and The Royal Photographic Society.
The images are still being used by world class organisations such as USAID, World Population Institute, UK Department for International Development (DFID) and more - which is something I'm very proud of.
I'm fascinated by what makes me (and everyone else) tick and have done lots of personal development training. I love it! It's given me the ability to stand in other people's shoes and see the world from their point of view.
Despite being highly creative I'm still a 'boy' and love engines and stuff. I can distinguish a Komatsu from a CAT from about a mile away which bores Jayne rigid!
I love photography, riding motorcycles on and off road, travelling and flirting!
