It's all about the royals at the moment, following the news of Prince William and Kate Middleton's engagement, so check out this new photography competition, run by the Royal Parks.
The competition, which is aimed at amateur photographers aged 13 and over, is calling for photographs of beautiful scenes taken in any of the royal parks across the capital.
The spaces include Richmond Park, Bushy Park, Hyde Park, Green Park, Kensington Gardens, Regent's Park, St. James's Park, Greenwich Park or Victoria Tower Gardens.
The competition, which is free to enter, has been organised by the Royal Parks in order to give photographers a chance to show off their favourite areas of the parks and to celebrate their snapping skills.
Once the last entries are received on 13 December 2010, the images will be judged via a public vote. People can cast their votes for their favourite image on social networking site Facebook.
To enter, simply upload your photograph onto the Royal Parks' Facebook page at facebook.com/TheRoyalParksLondon.
Lucky winners will receive a commemorative London Olympics 2012 badge. The parks will feature strongly in the 2012 Games, with a number of sporting events being hosted across the venues. The Triathlon and 10K Marathon Swim events will take place in Hype Park, with St. James's Park hosting the Beach Volleyball at the Horse Guards Parade Ground.
There are still nearly two weeks before the closing date for this competition - if you need some extra help why not use this as the perfect opportunity to trial our new photography video subscription service.
Our half price launch offer has been extended until Christmas - first month is just £4.87 (standard price £9.75). Subscription can be for a long as you like, there are no cancellation charges if you change your mind... but we think you'll love it and won't want to live without it!
