 26th Mar 2009

canon-500DThe new 15.1Mp Canon EOS 500D offers Full High Definition (HD) video capability to users who prefer digital SLR cameras.

The camera comes with a 3.0in. clear view LCD screen with a 920,000 dot count, which gives users an ultra-detailed image review facility. The screen is the same as that used in the popular Canon EOS 5D Mark II camera.

People using DSLRs for the first time will welcome this new camera as it provides realtime image display, combined with an auto-focus, compact-style camera.

The camera is equipped to produce outstanding, large prints and is great for cropping, offering a 15.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, producing amazing still shots. Both video clips and still pictures can be quickly viewed on a compatible HD TV using the camera’s built-in HDMI connection.

This camera is designed to enhance the user’s experience, with an EOS intuitive menu system, a large viewfinder and the EOS Integrated Cleaning System, which repels and removes dust from the sensor to protect image quality.

Canon consumer imaging head, Rainer Fuehres, says the new cannon camera is something special. “The Canon EOS 500D pushes the boundaries of what photographers can demand from their cameras, combining exceptional images with full HD video,” he says.
