Wildlife photography competition winter heats open

 13th Dec 2011

The winter heats for the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust (WWT) Photography Competition 2011-2012 have now opened.
The prizes include photography courses, workshops and holidays as well as a subscription to Bird Watching magazine. Photographers can submit their photos via the competition’s dedicated website.
The annual competition lasts throughout the year with four seasonal heats. During the four heats, judges are looking for a photograph that best captures that particular season.
There are four categories in total, plus an Under 18s category. In addition, the Portfolio Photographer of the Year Award is open to all those entering three or more photographs in a minimum of two or more seasonal heats. For some categories, the images submitted must be taken at one of WWT's nine wetland centres but others can be taken anywhere as long as they touch on the theme of the competition which is wetlands and wetland wildlife.
At the end of each heat winners representing each of WWT's nine wetland centres will be chosen from each category. The whole competition will close on 31 August 2012, when the regional heat winners will go on to the grand national final, scheduled for autumn of next year. The winning Portfolio Photographer will win a trip to Antarctica. For further information go to [CCM::Ext::Link~290]
