Local photography competition focuses on volunteering

 28th Nov 2011

A local photography competition is inviting entrants to focus on volunteering in their pictures if they want to be in with a chance of winning. Tips and technique help is available on Digital Photography DVD, go to Photgraphy DVD.
The Volunteer Centre in Merton, South West London, is organising the event with support from the Wimbledon Guardian, Centre Court shopping Centre, Merton Council and the Sony Centre.
A number of prizes are up for grabs for the winners, including the Sony NEX-C3KB, 15-55mm interchangable lens digital camera for the first place. The second prize is a Canon SELPHY ES40 printer, while third prize is a Motorola MF700 7” digital photo frame.
Any amateur photographers who want to take place have until 30 November to send their entries in. Only one image per person is asked for, but this can be either colour or black and white. It needs to be a maximum file size of 5MB, or alternatively can be printed out on a maximum paper size of A4 and a minimum size of 6x4.
The theme is very much a local one, with the focus on 'Merton Volunteers in Action'. More information on exactly what the organisation is looking for in the entries can be found at http://www.volunteercentremerton.org.uk/photo.
