Campo Viejo is organising the photography competition in association with the Guardian and is offering a luxury holiday for two in the Rioja region of Spain worth £5,000 to the winner.

The prize will include return flights to Bilbao for two, full car hire and seven nights in a deluxe room for two at the Hotel Viura. The location includes a gym, a swimming pool, stunning views and an award-winning spa, while the winners will also benefit from £300 spending money and a Basque cooking lesson.

To stand a chance of winning, budding photographers are invited to take a picture that “instantly evokes the vibrancy of the modern Spanish lifestyle”. It doesn't need to be taken in Spain but it should convey authenticity, expressiveness and generosity as these are the themes the judges will be focusing on during the competition. 

Suggested images include lovers lingering over drinks at a café, a family feast with generous servings of wine or a chic, vibrantly-dressed woman who stands out for her originality on the street.

Photographers who would like to take part have until November 17th to send their pictures in and are required to email the photograph as an attachment no bigger than 2MB to campo.viejo@guardian.co.uk.
