Sony World Photography Awards deadline approaching

 15th Dec 2011

The deadline for entries to the Sony World Photography Awards is fast approaching and the organisers have issued a final call for entries in the run-up to the closing date of 4 January 2012. Would you like to enter these types of competitions?? With Photography Courses huge range of products there will be something for you.

Amateur photographers and professionals are invited to take part in the event, which is judged by international experts, including curator and writer, Susan Bright, and Jon Jones, the director of photography for the Sunday Times Magazine.

While the competition for this event is going to be strong, there are some impressive prizes up for grabs. Indeed, the winner of the L'Iris d'Or/Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year Award will received $25,000, while the overall Open Competition winner will receive $5,000 and all category winners will be rewarded with Sony's latest digital imaging products.

Alejandro Chaskielberg from Argentina, who won this year's L'Iris d'Or, commented: “The Sony World Photography Awards has had an important effect on my career, and since winning the award my work has been published worldwide. I was honoured to receive L’Iris d’Or this year and I would strongly encourage photographers everywhere - whatever their ability - to enter the competition.”

Full details and entry information can be found at www.worldphoto.org.
