Sheffield paper launches photography competition

 19th Mar 2012

A photography competition has been launched in Sheffield offering keen amateur photographers the chance to win some cash prizes. Inspiration and ideas can be found in our E books Photography Courses.

Organised by The Star, the event is offering the winners of each category £50 in cash, while the overall winner will receive an additional £200. All entrants will also benefit from a £5 discount from the competition's sponsors Peak Imaging.
The categories open are Sport and Leisure, Town and Country and Pets and Wildlife. There is also a joint event category celebrating Multi-Cultural Sheffield, which will be judged separately by One Sheffield Many Cultures.
In addition to the cash prizes, amateur photographers will benefit from extra exposure as the best entries will be published in the paper's supplement on 10 April for readers to view and vote on.
Entrants have until early April to submit their images and may send in any pictures taken during 2011 and up to the closing date, even if they have already sent the images to The Star's readers' pages before.
More information is available from www.thestar.co.uk or readers can email their pictures to letters@thestar.co.uk.
