Photography competition prompts exhibition

 21st Sep 2011

Entries made to a photography competition have been put on display at a month-long exhibition held across three venues.  If this exhibition inspires you to learn more about photography, please take a look at our on-line Photography Courses

Back in July, a competition was launched entitled Stade Stories. It focused on the Stade in Hastings and invited members of the public to take their best shots of the beach-front. Now, over 40 of the images have been put on display.

Beatrice Rapley, Stade education officer, suggested that the photographs could be inspiring to other creative minds. She remarked: “The photographs certainly do provoke one’s imagination. They make me think about the stories behind the images. What’s happening and why? What happened before? What will happen after?”

Councillor Jeremy Birch, leader of Hastings Borough Council, was among the judges on the photography competition. He noted that each entry clearly showed that a great deal of effort had been put in it and revealed the quality and quantity of talent in the local area.

Members of the public can visit www.hastings.gov.uk/stade_education to view more of the pictures and get some inspiration themselves. It is also possible to vote for the People's Choice winner at this site.
