Photography competition to offer caravan as prize

 26th Jan 2012

A caravan is on offer as a prize in a recently announced photography competition organised by the Camping and Caravanning Club.

The group have launched the event in the year of the London Olympic Games in order to celebrate and are providing entrants with the chance to win an Elddis Xplore caravan, worth up to £15,000. Other prizes include days out at theme parks and hiking boots to get people out and about in the British countryside.

In order to enter, photographers will need to submit images in one of ten different categories in what has been dubbed an Alternative Decathlon. Among these categories are Weightlifting, Hurdles, Backstroke, Individual Pursuit and Freestyle.

They are all designed to invite the artist to think differently about the British countryside with these sports and words in mind.

Rob Quine, Managing Director at Elddis, commented: "We are delighted to be supporting the Club's unique Alternative Decathlon campaign, which will help boost domestic tourism in 2012 by highlighting some of the most fantastic and picturesque places to camp and caravan in the UK."

To be in with a chance of winning, photographers will need to upload their images to the Alternative Decathlon website by 15 July. The winners will then be announced on the first day of the Olympics 27 July. If you are an amateur and would love to enter competitions of this calibre, then Mike Browne of Photography Courses.biz can show you how in Tips and Techniques.
