Future Publishing to launch photography website

 16th Jul 2009

At a time when many magazine companies are experiencing downturns in profits as a result of falling advertising revenues, Future Publishing is expanding, with its latest launch being aimed at digital photography enthusiasts.

PhotoRadar will stand alongside the firm’s other online magazines, GamesRadar, MusicRadar, TechRadar and BikeRadar and will act as an aggregate site for its DigitalCamera and PhotoPlus titles.

The website is to include editorial and video content from its photography titles and will bring them together in one place where keen photographers of all levels can benefit from the content.

No substitute for a One to One photography course

There will be videos that act as brief photography courses - tutorials created by the website’s editorial team. They will be no substitute, however, for advanced and one-to-one photography courses. The site will also feature material added by readers.

Future’s CEO, Robert Price, says the firm has great ambitions for the site, “the launch of PhotoRadar is another milestone in Future’s digital strategy. With our strong print, digital and events pedigree in photography, it’s a natural extension for us. We have bold plans to make PhotoRadar the world’s biggest and best site for digital photographers.”

One of the major attractions for users will be the facility to upload their own photographs, which other users can then rate and review. The site is launched on 20 July 2009.

If you'd like to submit to PhotoRadar a one to one photography course could help you dazzle everyone with your photography when you upload it :-)
