Convention held for amateur and professional photographers

 5th Jan 2009

The Society for Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) and the British Professional Photographers Associates are holding their annual convention in Hammersmith, West London, on 16-18 January 2009.

The convention, which is open to amateurs and professionals alike, will be held at the Novotel London West and will cost £5, or is free for anyone who registers for a ticket before 9 January.

The SWPP says the convention is a great opportunity to meet other photographers and contacts who may be able to help and advise people on their photography.

The events’ organizers say the convention will be based on previous successful formats with some ‘tweaks.’ Special features of this year’s convention include a stage where photographers can practice taking snaps of models and props and receive expert guidance on subjects such as digital photography, wedding photography, landscape, Photoshop and marketing.

Among the exhibitors, who will be showing their latest kit, are expected to be Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony. A spokesperson for the event says, 'If you take photography seriously this non-stop event is a great way to be inspired for the new year,'

More information about the convention is available at the SWPP’s website: www.swpp.co.uk.
