As I take many of my photos indoors and during daylight, it's sometimes difficult to get the right lighting. The main problem is when it's a grey, cloudy day, but bright sunlight can also be a problem. I was taking some photos (indoors) of a deep red coloured rose on a sunny day and even though I was in a shady part of the house, it came out a very bright, wishy-washy colour. Nothing like the colour of the actual rose.
I can usually find somewhere indoors on a bright sunny day that does not cast a harsh light on the subject but in the case of the rose it still came out a much lighter colour. Any tips from anyone? Any lighting equipment I should invest in (I only have the flash that's built into the camera)? Anything I should be doing that probably I'm not?
