Photography competition launched in Cirencester

 16th Nov 2011

A photography competition has been launched in Cirencester, urging locals to snap pictures of the Cotswolds.

The event has been organised by Specsavers and the Wilts & Glos Standard and is offering competitors some worthwhile prizes. For hints on taking Autumnal images have a look at Autumn Photography Competition.

The winner will receive a £500 voucher for Jessops, while the runner-up will be given a £200 voucher. In addition to this, Specsavers will award the two a pair of designer glasses worth £125.

Photographers taking part are urged to focus on capturing “The Essence of a Cotswold Autumn/Winter”. This could be anything from a snowy countryside scene to a well-known landmark.

Amateur photographers of any age are welcome to take part, and the organisers are hoping that the event will be as successful as last year's was.

Catherine Perkinton, store director at Specsavers Cirencester, told the Standard: “The competition was a great success last time so we wanted to run it again and give local people the opportunity to showcase their photographic talents.

“The change in weather should also hopefully provide ample opportunity for some fantastic shots which I’m sure will make the judging process a difficult one.”

Entrants have until 24 November to get their pictures in and the winners will be displayed afterwards at Specsavers and the Brewery Arts Centre. For more info go to [CCM::Ext::Link~280]
